Blair and Julian’s Discovery Park wedding in Seattle, Washington, was the perfect mix of city vibes and scenic beauty, a dream setting for their intimate celebration. If you’re looking for non-traditional wedding ideas, Blair and Julian’s day was filled with personal, meaningful, and creative details that made it uniquely their own.
For those of you who don’t know, I’m a Seattle native! Before moving to Fort Worth in 2020, I spent a decade capturing love stories throughout the PNW. With family and friends still calling Washington home, I jump at every chance to return – especially when it means swapping the Texas heat for that crisp PNW air.
Most of my Seattle wedding photography bookings happen mostly through word-of-mouth referrals. When Blair reached out after seeing my photos of a mutual friend, I had a feeling we’d click!
She described her vision of a laid-back, intimate wedding day that blended Seattle’s natural beauty with an urban feel – including a parking garage (a personal fave!).
And then she mentioned her leather jacket? Sold! Instant besties. (Because if you know me, you know my leather jacket is a wardrobe staple.)
From Ballard to Pioneer Square to Discovery Park, Blair and Julian’s wedding day felt like a love letter to Seattle – and to each other.
We started the day at a quiet, tucked-away beach in Ballard, where Blair and Julian shared a beachfront first look and a private vow exchange
Next, we stopped at Un Bien, their family’s vibrant Caribbean restaurant, for some fun, colorful snaps outside this special spot. Note to self: definitely coming back to try the food next time I’m in town – it looks amazing!
One of my favorite hidden gems for photo locations is a rooftop parking garage, and this one in Pioneer Square did not disappoint. With sweeping views of Seattle’s historic architecture, including Smith Tower, plus glimpses of Elliott Bay and the Olympic Mountains, it offered a backdrop that was both picturesque and uniquely Seattle.
Finally, Blair and Julian made it official in an intimate ceremony atop the scenic bluffs of Discovery Park, surrounded by their closest family and friends.
Blair and Julian proved that small non-traditional weddings can be just as meaningful as grand celebrations. It was the perfect Seattle summer wedding that almost made me miss living here.
If you’re planning a PNW wedding, I offer low travel fees for weddings in the area. Plus, with Fort Worth summers being so damn hot, I’d gladly trade the Texas heat for the chance to photograph your special day in the beautiful Pacific Northwest!
Blair’s pal Demi was an absolute lifesaver! She not only let us borrow her car to drive all over the city but she also graciously held all of our shit while we snapped photos. You’re the best, Demi!
