Ben and Jasmine’s wedding at Squalicum Boathouse in Bellingham, Washington, was such a special day! Let me share the heartwarming story of how I became connected with this adorable couple…
In 2010, during my first year as a wedding photographer, I had the incredible fortune of meeting Kat, a bride whose colorful personality, crafty spirit, and infectious sweetness won me over instantly.
Over the years, I stayed connected with Kat and her family. I captured her maternity session, attended their baby shower, and even photographed Kat’s parents. Her mom even became a valued client of my parents’ optical business! Needless to say, I adore this family.
Fast forward to early this year, I received an exciting message from Kat – she asked if I’d be willing to travel to Bellingham, Washington, to photograph her brother Ben’s wedding. Without hesitation, I said YES! The chance to reunite with this wonderful family and document another milestone was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up.
So, at the end of June, off to Washington I flew! When I arrived at the bridal Airbnb, I was greeted by Jasmine’s radiant smile – and a very familiar sight: rain.
Their first look took place under a light drizzle, their outdoor ceremony at Squalicum Boathouse was moved indoors, and the sunset? Nonexistent. But true to their spirit, Ben and Jasmine embraced the unpredictable weather with laughter and unwavering positivity. They rolled with the punches, and I had the most fun documenting their day.
This wedding was more than just a beautiful celebration of love – it was a reminder of why I do what I do. Wedding photography isn’t just about taking pictures; it’s about forming lasting connections and telling stories that matter.
I’m endlessly grateful for the incredible clients who have trusted me on this ride. Capturing these once-in-a-lifetime celebrations is an honor and a privilege.
If you’re planning a PNW wedding, I offer low travel fees for weddings in the area. Plus, with Fort Worth summers being so damn hot, I’d gladly trade the Texas heat for the chance to photograph your special day in the beautiful Pacific Northwest!
